Working patterns are what you use to help set what hours employees should be working. These are important when you later try to set up overtime in the Timesheets module.

Only employees with administrator or timesheet administrator access can follow these steps:

Create working patterns

  1. Click your name in the top right, then click Settings.
  2. On the settings menu click TIMESHEETS, then click Working patterns.
  3. Click ADD NEW
  4. Select the working days
  5. For each working day type in what time work starts and what time work ends.
  6. If required, for each working day type in what time break starts and what time break ends.
  7. Once you have typed in the hours, at the bottom it will give you the total number of hours in that working pattern.
  8. If required, scroll down to ‘Additional parameters’ to set a default working day duration e.g seven hours. Specifying the full-time duration will enable overtime calculation only after the employee’s worked hours reach the value entered.
  9. Click SAVE

Below is an example of a working pattern.

Tip: Applying a default working duration is a useful way set up your timesheets so that employees on part-time working patterns get overtime rates when they’ve worked the same hours in a day as a full-time employee. If the full-time duration is, for example, set to five hours, then overtime will start after those five hours if an employee is still working.

Assign employees to a working pattern

  1. Click your name in the top right, then click Settings
  2. On the settings menu click TIMESHEETS, then click Working patterns.
  3. On a working pattern, click on the ELIGIBILITY button.
  4. Select the employee(s) you want to assign to this group. You can search for them or use the advanced search to filter down to employees of a certain Team, Position and/or Location .
  5. Once selected click SAVE.

Tip: Once you've created your working patterns, if you want them to be used make sure you select pre-fill using working patterns in your timesheet general settings.
